The College of Arts at the University of Samarra Organizes a Tree-Planting Campaign on the Occasion of National Tree-Planting Day

The College of Arts at the University of Samarra organized a tree-planting campaign in the college corridors and gardens, in celebration of National Tree-Planting Day, which is an Iraqi initiative aimed at enhancing environmental awareness and preserving green spaces. This day falls on the twelfth of March each year, during which universities and educational institutions witness tree-planting campaigns and environmental activities in which students and faculty members participate, emphasizing the importance of caring for the environment and supporting national efforts in this field.

 

This initiative aims to spread a culture of environmental awareness among students and staff and to preserve green spaces within the university campus. It also contributes to improving air quality and promoting the spirit of volunteerism and national belonging, in addition to supporting the state’s efforts in confronting desertification and reducing its environmental impacts.

 

The campaign included a number of environmental activities, including planting trees in the college gardens and corridors, distributing posters and awareness leaflets highlighting the importance of tree planting and its role in maintaining environmental balance, as well as organizing awareness activities in which a number of the college’s students and faculty members participated.

 

In the same context, the campaign witnessed the participation of the Dean of the College of Arts, Professor Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud Allo, along with the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Sabah Hammoud Ghafar, who emphasized the importance of such initiatives in promoting environmental awareness among students and staff and encouraging participation in activities that contribute to preserving the environment and developing green spaces within the university campus.

 

In addition, these initiatives come within the framework of the college’s commitment to promoting a healthy and sustainable university environment and strengthening the spirit of environmental responsibility among students and staff
