استقبلت كلية الزراعة في جامعة سامراء طلبة الدراسات العليا الماجستير قسم البستنة وهندسة الحدائق، بحضور عميد الكلية الأستاذ الدكتور خالد عبدالله السهر، ومعاونه الاداري الاستاذ المساعد الدكتور عبدالمنعم حسن احمد، فضلا عن رئيس قسم البستنة المدرس غسان زيد مريف ، وذلك في أول أيام المباشرة بالعام الدراسي الجديد 2025–2026.

ورحب الدكتور خالد السهر بالطلبة، مهنئًا إياهم ببدء عامهم الدراسي، ومتمنياً لهم التوفيق والنجاح في مسيرتهم العلمية، مؤكدًا أن عمادة الكلية حريصة على تهيئة الأجواء الأكاديمية المناسبة وتذليل جميع المعوقات التي قد تواجه الطلبة خلال دراستهم.

وشدد السهر على أهمية التعاون المشترك بين الطلبة، والعمل بروح الفريق الواحد لعبور هذه المرحلة العلمية بنجاح، مشيرًا إلى أن الكلية تسعى باستمرار إلى الارتقاء بالبحث العلمي وتعزيز المكانة الأكاديمية للدراسات العليا بما يسهم في خدمة المجتمع وإعداد قيادات علمية رصينة.

وفي ختام اللقاء، دعا رئيس القسم البستنة وهندسة الحدائق المدرس غسان زيد مريف الطلبة إلى استثمار هذه المرحلة الدراسية بجدية واجتهاد، وتحويل التحديات إلى فرص للتميز والإبداع، مؤكداً أن العمادة ستبقى الداعم الأول لمسيرتهم العلمية.

College of Agriculture Welcomes Postgraduate Students for the Academic Year 2025–2026

The College of Agriculture at the University of Samarra welcomed postgraduate (Master’s) students in the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering, in the presence of the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Khalid Abdullah Al-Saher, the Administrative Assistant Dean, Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdulmunem Hassan Ahmed, and the Head of the Department of Horticulture, Lecturer Ghassan Zaid Mrif, on the first day of the new academic year 2025–2026.

Dr. Khalid Al-Saher warmly welcomed the students, congratulating them on the start of their academic journey and wishing them success and excellence. He emphasized that the College Administration is committed to providing a supportive academic environment and overcoming any obstacles that students may face during their studies.

He also stressed the importance of teamwork and mutual collaboration among students to successfully navigate this significant academic stage. Moreover, he highlighted the College’s continuous efforts to enhance scientific research and strengthen the academic standing of postgraduate studies, contributing to community service and the preparation of competent scientific leaders.

At the end of the meeting, the Head of the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering, Lecturer Ghassan Zaid Mrif, urged the students to approach this academic stage with dedication and perseverance, turning challenges into opportunities for distinction and creativity. He reaffirmed that the College Administration will remain the primary supporter of their academic journey.

برئاسة السيد المدرس محمد علي عبدالله رئيس قسم المحاصيل الحقلية، عقد مجلس القسم اجتماعه الدوري بحضور السادة أعضاء الهيئة التدريسية.

وتضمن الاجتماع مناقشة الاستعدادات للعام الدراسي الجديد 2025–2026، ومتابعة متطلبات سير العملية التعليمية والبحثية، إضافةً إلى بحث آليات تطوير المناهج الدراسية، ودعم مشاريع التخرج والبحوث العلمية، فضلاً عن مناقشة بعض القضايا الإدارية التي تساهم في الارتقاء بعمل القسم وخدمة طلبته.

كما شهد الاجتماع تأكيد عمادة الكلية والقسم على أهمية نشر البحوث العلمية في المجلات الرصينة، بما يعزز من مكانة القسم العلمية والبحثية ويسهم في رفع تصنيف الجامعة محليًا ودوليًا.

ويأتي هذا الاجتماع في إطار حرص رئاسة القسم على تعزيز التعاون بين أعضاء المجلس بما يسهم في رفع المستوى العلمي والبحثي للقسم.

Field Crops Department Discusses Preparations for the New Academic Year

Chaired by Mr. Mohammed Ali Abdullah, Head of the Field Crops Department, the department council held its regular meeting with the attendance of the faculty members.

The meeting included discussions on the preparations for the new academic year 2025–2026, following up on the requirements of the educational and research processes, as well as reviewing mechanisms for developing curricula, supporting graduation projects and scientific research, in addition to addressing several administrative issues that contribute to improving the department’s performance and serving its students.

The meeting also emphasized the importance, as stressed by both the College and the Department, of publishing scientific research in reputable journals, which would enhance the academic and research standing of the department and contribute to raising the university’s ranking locally and internationally.

This meeting reflects the department’s commitment to fostering collaboration among council members in a way that promotes the academic and research level of the department.

ويأتي هذا النشاط ضمن خطط كلية الزراعة الرامية إلى دعم الجانب التطبيقي والبحثي، وتوفير بيئة علمية متكاملة تسهم في تعزيز خبرات الطلبة، بما يخدم أهداف جامعة سامراء في خدمة المجتمع والقطاع الزراعي.

Field Scientific Activity in the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Khalid Al-Sahar, and under the supervision of the Head of the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering, Lecturer Ghassan Zaid Mrayef, the department carried out a field activity within the greenhouses and research nurseries of the college.

The activity included following up on soil preparation works for protected cultivation using agricultural machinery, as well as monitoring plant growth in the nursery and reviewing the scientific experiments conducted by undergraduate students.

This activity comes as part of the College of Agriculture’s plans to support the practical and research aspects, and to provide an integrated scientific environment that contributes to enhancing students’ skills, in line with the goals of the University of Samarra in serving the community and the agricultural sector.

ترأس السيد عميد كلية الزراعة الأستاذ الدكتور خالد عبدالله سهر اجتماع مجلس قسم البستنة وهندسة الحدائق، حيث استهلّ الاجتماع بكلمة توجيهية شدّد فيها على ضرورة الالتزام بالتعليمات الصادرة من رئاسة جامعة سامراء، ولا سيما ما يتعلق بالدوام الرسمي ، مؤكدًا على دور الأقسام العلمية في تطوير الأداء الأكاديمي والبحثي.

وتناول الاجتماع مناقشة عدد من الآراء والمقترحات العلمية التي تسهم في مواكبة التطور الحاصل في كليات الزراعة، إلى جانب التركيز على السبل الكفيلة بالحفاظ على حدائق الكلية وممتلكاتها بما يعكس صورة حضارية عن البيئة الجامعية. كما تم التطرق إلى أهمية مشاركة التدريسيين في المحافل العلمية من مؤتمرات وندوات ومسابقات، لما لهذه المشاركات من أثر في تعزيز مكانة الكلية والجامعة على المستويين المحلي والدولي.

كذلك شهد الاجتماع حوارًا موسعًا حول آليات تطوير العملية التعليمية وضمان انتظام الدوام، بما يحقق بيئة أكاديمية منتجة تلبي تطلعات الطلبة والأساتذة على حد سواء.

وفي ختام الاجتماع، أعرب رئيس القسم المدرس غسان زيد مريف عن شكره وامتنانه للسيد العميد، مثمنًا الدعم الكبير الذي تقدمه عمادة الكلية من خلال توفير المستلزمات الضرورية وإدامة العملية التعليمية بما يضمن استمرار عجلة التطور الأكاديمي في القسم والكلية.

Dean of the College of Agriculture Chairs the Meeting of the Department of Horticulture and Garden Engineering

The Dean of the College of Agriculture, Professor Dr. Khalid Abdullah Saher, chaired the meeting of the Department of Horticulture and Garden Engineering. He opened the session with a guiding speech in which he emphasized the importance of adhering to the directives issued by the Presidency of Samarra University, particularly those related to official attendance and administrative discipline, stressing the role of academic departments in enhancing academic and research performance.

The meeting addressed a number of scientific opinions and proposals that contribute to keeping pace with the ongoing developments in agricultural colleges, with a particular focus on the measures necessary to preserve the college’s gardens and properties as a reflection of the university’s civilized environment. The discussions also highlighted the importance of faculty participation in scientific forums such as conferences, seminars, and competitions, noting their impact in strengthening the reputation of the College and the University both locally and internationally.

The meeting further witnessed an extensive dialogue on mechanisms to advance the educational process and ensure regular attendance, thereby fostering a productive academic environment that meets the aspirations of both students and faculty members.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Head of the Department, Lecturer Ghassan Zaid Mrayef, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Dean, commending the significant support provided by the College’s administration in securing the necessary requirements to sustain the educational process and ensure the continued progress of academic development within the department and the college.

عقدت كلية الزراعة في جامعة سامراء يوم الأحد الموافق 17 آب 2025، ورشة عمل
قدّمت الورشة كلٌّ من:

وتناولت الورشة حق المرأة في المشاركة السياسية بوصفه حقًا أساسيًا في الأنظمة الديمقراطية الحديثة، حيث تم التطرق إلى دور المرأة في التمثيل السياسي عبر الترشح والمشاركة في الهيئات الحكومية، ودورها في التأثير من خلال التصويت، المشاركة في الحملات الانتخابية، والمساهمة في صياغة السياسات العامة.

كما ناقشت الورشة أبرز التحديات التي تواجه المرأة مثل ضعف التمثيل وصعوبة الوصول إلى المعلومات، وقدمت مجموعة من الحلول أبرزها تعزيز التمثيل النسائي، مكافحة التمييز الجندري، وتسهيل الوصول إلى المعلومات السياسية.

شهدت الورشة تفاعلًا مميزًا من الحاضرين، وأكدت على أهمية تمكين المرأة وتعزيز حضورها الفاعل في الحياة السياسية والمجتمعية.

Workshop at the College of Agriculture, University of Samarra, entitled
“Women and Suffrage: From Representation to Influence”

The College of Agriculture at the University of Samarra held a workshop on Sunday, August 17, 2025.

The workshop was presented by:

• Lecturer Tulin Khalid Ibrahim

The workshop addressed women’s right to political participation as a fundamental right in modern democratic systems. It highlighted women’s role in political representation through candidacy and participation in governmental bodies, as well as their role in influence through voting, engaging in electoral campaigns, and contributing to the formulation of public policies.

The workshop also discussed key challenges facing women, such as underrepresentation and limited access to political information, and presented several solutions, most notably enhancing women’s representation, combating gender discrimination, and improving access to political information.

The event witnessed active interaction from the attendees and emphasized the importance of empowering women and strengthening their effective presence in political and societal life.

نظمت شعبة ضمان الجودة وتقييم الأداء في كلية الزراعة بجامعة سامراء، ورشة عمل تدريبية بعنوان: “رفع متطلبات حقيبة الأستاذ على حساب المؤمن”، ألقاها الأستاذ مهند نعمة جبوري (مسؤول شعبة ضمان الجودة وتقييم الأداء).

هدفت الورشة إلى تعريف التدريسيين بآلية رفع وتحميل متطلبات حقيبة الأستاذ إلكترونيًا على حساباتهم في منصة “المؤمن”، وذلك ضمن استمارة مؤشر الأداء الأكاديمي المعتمدة من قبل وزارة التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي.

وتضمنت الورشة ثلاثة محاور رئيسية:
التعريف بحقيبة الأستاذ ومكوناتها الأساسية، وأهميتها في تقييم الأداء الأكاديمي.
شرح خطوات رفع متطلبات الحقيبة إلكترونيًا على حساب المؤمن بطريقة صحيحة وسلسة.
آلية احتساب النقاط الخاصة بالحقيبة ضمن مؤشر الأداء الأكاديمي (API)، مع توضيح علاقتها بتقارير الجودة.

حضر الورشة الأستاذ الدكتور خالد عبدالله سهر عميد كلية الزراعة، وعدد من التدريسيين في الكلية، الذين أشادوا بمحتوى الورشة وما قدمته من إرشادات عملية مهمة تساعد في تحسين جودة التدريس والبحث العلمي.

وتأتي هذه الورشة في إطار حرص كلية الزراعة الدائم على رفع كفاءة الكادر التدريسي، وتعزيز جودة العملية التعليمية، ومواكبة أنظمة التقييم المعتمدة في وزارة التعليم العالي.

College of Agriculture Organizes a Training Workshop on Uploading the Professor’s Portfolio Requirements to the Mo’men Account

The Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division at the College of Agriculture, University of Samarra, organized a training workshop entitled: “Uploading the Professor’s Portfolio Requirements to the Mo’men Account”, delivered by Mr. Muhannad Ne’ma Jabouri (Head of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division).

The workshop aimed to introduce faculty members to the mechanism of uploading and submitting the professor’s portfolio requirements electronically through their accounts on the Mo’men Platform, as part of the Academic Performance Indicator Form (API) adopted by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The workshop covered three main topics:
Introducing the professor’s portfolio, its essential components, and its importance in evaluating academic performance.
Explaining the steps for uploading the portfolio requirements electronically to the Mo’men account accurately and efficiently.
Clarifying the mechanism for calculating the portfolio’s points within the Academic Performance Indicator (API) and its relation to quality assurance reports.

The workshop was attended by Prof. Dr. Khalid Abdullah Sehr, Dean of the College of Agriculture, along with several faculty members, who praised the workshop’s content and the practical guidelines it provided to improve the quality of teaching and scientific research.

This workshop comes within the framework of the College of Agriculture’s ongoing efforts to enhance faculty performance, improve the quality of education, and align with the evaluation systems adopted by the Ministry of Higher Education.

وفي نهاية المناقشة قررت اللجنة بعد الأخذ بنظر الاعتبار الجهود العلمية المبذولة من الباحثه واستخدامها المراجع والدفاع عن الرسالة وأسلوب البحث والنتائج التي توصلت اليها، قبول الرسالة كجزء من متطلبات نيل شهادة الماجستير بتقدير امتياز.
ومن الجدير بالذكر أن الاستاذ الدكتور خالد عبدالله سهر كانت له العديد من الإسهامات والمشاركات في عدد من مناقشات رسائل الماجستير واطروحات الدكتوراه والمؤتمرات العلمية داخل وخارج القطر.
Professor Dr. Khalid Abdullah Suher, a member of the Master’s thesis defense committee at the College of Education – Al-Iraqia University.

The Dean of the College of Agriculture, Professor Dr. Khalid Abdullah Suher, participated as a member and supervisor in the defense committee of the Master’s thesis at the College of Education, Department of Life Sciences / Al-Iraqia University. The thesis was presented by the researcher Zainab Ahmed Hindi, entitled:

“The Effect of Nano Iron Oxide and Amino Acids on the Growth Characteristics, Active Compounds, and Anatomical Traits of Roselle Plant (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.).”

The defense committee consisted of the following professors:

At the conclusion of the defense, and after considering the scientific efforts made by the researcher, her use of references, her defense of the thesis, the research methodology, and the results obtained, the committee decided to accept the thesis as part of the requirements for obtaining a Master’s degree with an Excellent grade.

It is worth mentioning that Prof. Dr. Khalid Abdullah Suher has made numerous contributions and participated in several Master’s thesis defenses, Ph.D. dissertations, and scientific conferences both inside and outside the country.

في إطار اهتمام كلية الزراعة بتعزيز الوعي الحقوقي وبناء ثقافة السلام في المجتمع، وبدعم مباشر من الأستاذ الدكتور خالد عبدالله سهر عميد الكلية، نُفذت دورة تدريبية بعنوان:
“دور الأسرة في تمكين حقوق الإنسان وبناء السلام”
وذلك يومي الثلاثاء والاربعاء الموافق 19-20 آب الجاري قدّم الدورة كل من:

المدرسة المساعدة علا عماد محمد

وتناولت الدورة محاور متعددة أبرزها:
دور الأسرة في تعزيز القيم الإنسانية مثل الاحترام والتسامح والعدالة كأساس لبناء السلام.
تنشئة الأطفال على القيم والمبادئ التي تساهم في بناء مجتمع متماسك ومستقر.
أهمية الحوار والتفاهم الأسري في تعزيز التواصل بين الأجيال.
تشجيع المشاركة المجتمعية والعمل التطوعي لتمكين الأفراد من المساهمة الفاعلة في بناء المجتمع.

وتأتي هذه الفعالية ضمن سلسلة الأنشطة العلمية والتدريبية التي تنظمها الكلية، بهدف رفع الوعي وتمكين المجتمع من أداء دوره في دعم حقوق الإنسان وتعزيز ثقافة السلام.
The Role of the Family in Promoting Human Rights and Building Peace: A Specialized Scientific Workshop at the College of Agriculture

As part of the College of Agriculture’s commitment to enhancing awareness of human rights and fostering a culture of peace within society, and with the direct support of Prof. Dr. Khalid Abdullah Saher, Dean of the College, a training workshop was held entitled:
“The Role of the Family in Promoting Human Rights and Building Peace”

The workshop took place on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 19–20, and was delivered by:

• Raising children on principles and values that contribute to building a cohesive and stable society.
• The importance of family dialogue and understanding in strengthening intergenerational communication.
• Encouraging community participation and volunteer work to empower individuals to play an active role in building society.

This workshop comes as part of a series of scientific and training activities organized by the College, aiming to raise awareness and empower society to contribute effectively to supporting human rights and promoting a culture of peace.

في إطار حرص كلية الزراعة – جامعة سامراء على رفع مستوى الوعي المجتمعي وتعزيز ثقافة التحقق من الأخبار، وبإشراف مباشر من الأستاذ الدكتور خالد عبدالله سهر عميد الكلية، نظّمت الكلية ندوة توعوية بعنوان:
“الحد من الأخبار الكاذبة حول تداعيات لبنان”

وذلك يوم الأحد الموافق 24 آب 2025، حيث تناولت الندوة خطورة تداول الأخبار الزائفة وأثرها في بث الذعر بين المواطنين، مؤكدةً على ضرورة تحري الدقة في تداول المعلومات ومواجهة الشائعات التي تهدف إلى تأجيج الفتنة وزعزعة الاستقرار.

وأشارت الندوة إلى أن ما يُنشر من أخبار مضللة حول تداعيات لبنان لا أساس له من الصحة، وأن الأوضاع طبيعية، مؤكدةً أهمية تعزيز التكاتف المجتمعي بين أبناء الشرق الأوسط وضرورة نشر الطمأنينة بين المواطنين. كما بيّنت أن ما يُعرف بـ”الحرب الناعمة” يستهدف التأثير على استقرار المجتمعات، ومن هنا تأتي أهمية الوعي الفردي والجماعي في التصدي للشائعات.

وتأتي هذه الفعالية ضمن سلسلة الأنشطة العلمية والتوعوية التي تنظمها الكلية، في إطار سعيها الدائم إلى تعزيز الوعي الفكري وترسيخ مبدأ المسؤولية المجتمعية بين الأفراد والمؤسسات.

Awareness Seminar on Combating Fake News Regarding the Lebanon Developments

As part of its commitment to raising community awareness and promoting a culture of fact-checking, and under the direct supervision of Prof. Dr. Khalid Abdullah Saher, Dean of the College, the College of Agriculture – University of Samarra organized an awareness seminar titled:
“Combating Fake News Regarding the Lebanon Developments”

The seminar was held on Sunday, August 24, 2025, and addressed the dangers of spreading false news and its impact on creating fear among citizens. It emphasized the importance of verifying information and countering rumors that aim to incite discord and destabilize communities.

The seminar clarified that much of the misleading news circulating about the situation in Lebanon is unfounded and that conditions remain stable. It stressed the importance of community solidarity across the Middle East and the necessity of spreading reassurance among citizens. It also highlighted that what is known as the “soft war” seeks to influence societal stability, which makes individual and collective awareness vital in combating misinformation.
